Standing on Hands

From Acrobalance

Jump to: navigation, search

The flyer stands in the Base's hands, either both facing the same direction, or facing opposite directions. May be performed in L base, standing (base's hands at shoulder level), or high (base's hands extended).

Mounting

From L base. Flyer stands behind base and lifts one foot. Base grips the foot and pulls it back to the ground when he/she has found the proper grip. Repeat with other foot. The flyer then jumps (both feet together, slightly forward to end above the base's shoulders) and base extends arms to a straight position. Flyer may hold on to the base's feet, bent at the waist, until stability has been achieved and then stand up, or jump straight up without using the feet.

Notes

The base extends the forefinger around the back of the heel, and grips around the foot with the rest of the hand. Flyer's feet may be flat or pointed, depending on the preference of the pair. However, once the desired position is found, the ankle should never move. This allows the base to control the balance by applying torque with his or her wrists.
